Nokia has begun the process for mass layoffs in the wake of its Alcatel-Lucent acquisition, but sources say that its San Francisco Bay Area-led Nokia Technologies unit will largely be spared. Worldwide IT spending is forecast to total USD3.49 trillion in 2016, a decline of 0.5% over 2015 spending of USD3.5 trillion, according to Gartner.
